Summertime Cocktails for a Parisian Party


With the fabulous weather rolling in for the summer months, you’ll want to be outside picnicking or on terraces as often as possible.  And what goes better with a picnic or summer terrace than a nice refreshing cocktail? Here at Savoir Faire, we’ve compiled summer cocktail recipes that are cool, refreshing, and are sure to brighten your summer.  Bring some along to your World Cup or Wimbledon viewing parties, your weekend at the countryside, or your Bastille Day festivities, and you’ll win some major brownie points with friends and family.  Don’t forget to include some classic French liquors, such as champagne, lillet, and pastis in those drinks of yours!

Lillet

Lillet Rouge and Cherry Cocktail
4 bing cherries (pitted)
3 ozs lillet rouge
1 oz gin
2 dashes orange bitters
splash of seltzer water
orange twists

In a cocktail shaker, muddle cherries lightly. Add Lillet Rouge, gin, and bitters. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.  Pour into a collins glass, including the ice. Top off with a splash of seltzer water.  Squeeze the orange twist over the drink and garnish with a whole cherry.

 

East Village Passion
2 lime wedges
10 leaves fresh mint
3/4 oz. simple syrup
2 oz. Appleton White Rum
3/4 oz. passion fruit puree
Splash of soda

Muddle lime wedges, fresh mint, and simple syrup in a mixing glass. Top with ice. Add rum and passion fruit puree. Pour into a highball glass. Top with splash of soda.

 

Warhol Crush
12 fresh rosemary sprigs
6 fresh raspberries
3/4 oz. simple syrup
1 1/2 oz. Martini & Rossi Rosso Vermouth
2 oz. cranberry juice

Muddle rosemary, raspberries, and simple syrup in a mixing glass. Fill halfway with ice and add vermouth and cranberry juice. Shake 8-10 times. Double-strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with raspberries speared by a rosemary sprig.

 

Bohemian Cocktail
1 1/2 oz Martini & Rossi Rosso Vermouth
2 oz. orange juice
1 oz. cranberry juice
1/4 oz. Grenadine

Fill glass halfway with ice. Pour in Martini & Rossi Rosso Vermouth, orange juice, and cranberry juice. Pour Grenadine down the inside of the glass and let settle to the bottom. Garnish with an orange slice.

 

Champagne Punch
3 tablespoons grenadine
3 tablespoons Cointreau
2 tablespoons brandy
1 3/4 cups champagne
Raspberries, apples, or other seasonal fruit

Fill a small ice bucket halfway with ice. Pour grenadine, Cointreau, brandy, and champagne over ice. Stir gently, and ladle punch into 2 wide-mouthed stemmed glasses. Garnish punch with raspberries, apples, or any other fruit in season.

 

Hot Fudge Bourbon Milkshakes

1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ounces bourbon
1/2 cup hot fudge + 2 tablespoons

At the bottom of each glass, add 2-3 tablespoons of hot fudge. In a blender, combine milk, ice cream, vanilla extract, bourbon and about 1/4 cup of hot fudge. Blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and top with bourbon whipped cream + a another tablespoon of hot fudge.
